Who we are
A young association with a big task: giving Islam a dignified, open home in Schaffhausen.
The IKVSH is a place of prayer, a place of learning and a place of encounter in one: for Muslims of every background and for everyone in Schaffhausen who would like to get to know us.

Our journey
A short history, big steps
2021
Founding of the association
In September 2021, a handful of committed families established the Islamic Cultural Association Schaffhausen, with the vision of an open, multilingual home for all Muslims in the region.
2021
First premises
The prayer hall at Zentralstrasse 77 was set up: simple means, big hearts. The first Jumu’ah prayers took place, and the doors have been open to everyone from day one. Rent and utilities have been covered month by month ever since.
2024
Education & Youth
The Quran school for children started, along with the youth and women’s programmes. The community has grown to span more than a dozen countries of origin.
Today
On the way to more
With the “200 square metres” campaign, the year 2027 is to be covered in advance for the first time, so the board and volunteers can build in peace: for men, women and children, the whole community.
The people behind it
Board & Team
All volunteers, committed and there for you. Transparency matters to us: we give an account every year at the general assembly.
Imam
Leads the prayers, delivers the khutbah and supports the community in religious matters.
President
Leads the association, represents the IKVSH externally and coordinates the board.
Education
Responsible for the Quran school, courses and educational programmes for all generations.
Youth & Social
Organises youth meet-ups, sport and neighbourhood help.
