شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ

The blessed month

Ramadan at the IKVSH

The month of the Quran, of community and of mercy: here’s how to experience it with us in Schaffhausen.

Our Ramadan programme

30 days that bring us together

Suhoor & Iftar times

You’ll find the daily fasting times for Schaffhausen live on our prayer times page: Fajr ends Suhoor, Maghrib breaks the fast.

Tarawih prayers

Every evening after Isha prayer, we pray Tarawih together, carried by the special atmosphere of this month.

Shared Iftars

On selected evenings we break the fast together: every family brings something, and nobody is left alone. Guests are very welcome too.

Zakat al-Fitr

The Fitra is one Sa’ of staple food (about 3 kg) for every person, children included. You give us its value in money, and we forward it in good time before Eid to countries where it is used to distribute food to those in need. The amount per person is announced in good time each year.

Laylat al-Qadr

In the last ten nights, we intensify our prayers and seek Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree.

Eid al-Fitr

The Eid prayer followed by a celebration crowns the month: breakfast, a children’s programme and gifts on the most beautiful morning of the year.

شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ

“The month of Ramadan is that in which the Quran was revealed, a guidance for the people.”
Quran 2:185

Sponsor an Iftar

Whoever gives a fasting person something to break their fast receives the same reward as them, without the fasting person’s reward being diminished in the least (at-Tirmidhi 807). Your donation makes shared Iftar evenings possible for the whole community.
