Sponsor a square metre.
Our mosque has 200 m². For 2027, 200 people each sponsor one: CHF 240 a year, 20 francs a month, 66 centimes a day. Half of one counts too, and so does a quarter.
CHF 131.50
is what one day in our mosque costs.
Five prayers, light and warmth, an open door for everyone. Per square metre and day, that’s 66 centimes.

square metres are already lit.
198 are still dark. You can see their outlines on the carpet. One of them can be yours, or part of one.
Since September 2021
We’re paying for 2027 up front.
In September 2021, we founded our mosque. Since then, we’ve lived from month to month: the money for rent, utilities and the imam is gathered afresh every month, over every hurdle. That’s why much of what we wish for the community has moved forward only slowly.
With this campaign, we’re turning that around. 200 people each sponsor one square metre, and the year 2027 is paid for before it begins. Every 17 m² covers a month. For the first time, we can plan with certainty.
What that changes: the board, administration and volunteers no longer have to think about money every month, and can build in peace instead. And our members’ monthly contributions flow into what a mosque is there for: activities for men, for women, for children, for the whole community, Eid celebrations and projects that last.
January 2027 is 12% paid.
One month = 17 m² = CHF 4'000. Every contribution fills the next month.

Each square is one square metre of prayer space: CHF 240 a year or CHF 20 a month. If you’d like to give less, you fill the open square together with others.
Or pick a free square right on the floor plan.
Choose a number, an amount or a square. Partial amounts fill the open square.

From the Sunnah
Whoever builds a mosque.
What the hadith says about building mosques, and what scholars draw from it.
مَن بنَى مسجدًا للهِ كمَفحَصِ قَطاةٍ أو أصغرَ بنَى اللهُ له بيتًا في الجنَّةِ
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, even one as small as a sandgrouse’s nest or smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
Its core is also found in al-Bukhari (450) and Muslim (533), narrated by Uthman ibn Affan: “Whoever builds a mosque, seeking thereby the Face of Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.”
- One of the noblest deeds
- Building mosques for worship is among the greatest deeds by which one draws near to Allah. Islam encourages building mosques and honouring their sanctity.
- Sincerity
- “Seeking the Face of Allah” means doing it for His pleasure alone, not to be seen or praised. Sincerity is the condition for any deed to be rewarded.
- A reward in kind
- Whoever builds a house for Allah, Allah builds a house for him in Paradise. “The like of it” does not mean it is the same size, but that it too is a house. According to one explanation, it will be spacious, solid and perfect to the degree that he enlarged the mosque, built it solidly and made it useful to people.
- Small things count too
- The hadith explicitly mentions even the smallest: a mosque as small as a sandgrouse’s nest, or smaller still.
Explanation based on the Hadith Encyclopedia of Dorar al-Saniyya
And the rent?
The hadith speaks of building a mosque. Whoever carries the rent and running costs keeps the mosque alive. That too is Sadaqa, and Allah praises those who maintain His mosques (Quran 9:18). The reward is His alone to decide.
The purpose
What your contribution pays for.
CHF 48'000 for the year 2027, that’s the whole bill. No new building, no fund: just the running costs of our mosque, so the door is open every day and the association has room to breathe for projects and for growing the community.
Rent
The roof over every prayer: 200 m² at Zentralstrasse 77, first floor.
Utilities
Light, heating and water for wudu, all year round.
Imam
Prayer, teaching, pastoral care. Someone is there when you need him.
- Purpose
- Rent, utilities and the imam for the year 2027. If more comes in, the surplus goes towards running costs in 2028.
- Partial amounts
- Smaller amounts fill the open square together. Once it’s full, its light comes on, for everyone who contributed.
- Sadaqa
- This donation is Sadaqa, not Zakat. Zakat is passed on separately to those entitled to it.
- Taxes
- Donations for religious purposes are not tax-deductible in the canton of Schaffhausen. We’re happy to issue a confirmation.
- Accountability
- We account for income and spending at the general assembly.
- Anonymous
- No name and no amount ever appears on the page, only the square and the share. Only the treasurer knows the names, and only for the confirmation.
- Questions

“The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, give Zakat and fear none but Allah. It is they who will truly be among the rightly guided.”
